NIH Small Business Grant

Those who have an idea of stepping into Small business have many opportunities before them and National Institute of Health offers grants in various fields, of which, small business technology transfer is one.

This grant is intended to stimulate scientific and technological innovation through cooperative research or research and development that are carried out between small business concerns and research institutions.

This grant is mainly utilized to assist the small business and research communities in commercializing innovative technologies. The grant is awarded in a three phased structure, spanning over a period of two years. But, the eligibility requirement is confined to U.S. small business concerns.

Another NIH small business grant that is offered is, the small business innovative research which is to stimulate technological innovation in the private sector by supporting research or research and development for profit institutions. The grant applicant is required to have a small business idea that has great potential for commercialization.

This grant, too, is awarded in a three phased structure and only small business concerns in the U.S. can apply for this grant. The primary employment of the project director must be within the small business concern.

Small business can flourish anywhere and there are many private and government organizations that are ready to fund the needy people. It needs some effort on the apart of the recipient to apply for grants and benefit from it.
